The mission statement of
the North American Elk Breeders Association

Mission Statement:

With the participation of our members the North American Elk Breeders Association strives to protect, promote, and enhance the North American elk industry.

Objectives:

  • To provide education in and encourage the proper care, management and breeding of elk for the benefit of farmers and ranchers and future generations.
  • To educate its members and the general public regarding activities and policies of governmental agencies concerned with the proper elk farming/ranching techniques and propagation.
  • To educate the general public and membership in the most humane and effective ways to ranch and breed elk while helping instruct, design, and consult in all proper techniques of ranching with regard to all aspects of elk ranching.
  • To maintain an elk breed registry system that provides knowledge to the membership necessary for predicting progeny performance.
  • To encourage scientific research pertaining to the management of elk and all other aspects associated with elk ranching.
  • To encourage statistical analysis, surveys, and recording of history.
