Connie Seutter Appointed to Fill Vacant Seat in Northern Region

November 2, 2017

The North American Elk Breeders Association is proud to announce Connie Seutter has been appointed to the Board of Directors, representing the Northern Region.

The seat became vacant after Russell Gwozdz, who was serving the last year of his three-year term, resigned from the Board of Directors last month. Soon after, the Nominations Committee notified the membership to solicit interest. Seutter expressed interest and was recommended for the seat by the Nominating Committee. The NAEBA Board adopted the recommendation on November 1. She will hold the seat until August 2018, when the regular election takes place next summer.

Seutter is no stranger to elk association leadership. Seutter is the current president of the Canadian Cervid Alliance and former chair of the Alberta Elk Commission. She is immensely involved in regulatory reform with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and efforts to open export markets from North America to the Far East.

Connie and her husband, Ben, have been elk producers in Alberta since 2001. The Seutters’ have been regular attendees of NAEBA events since 2008.
