NAEBA Staff Changes

New Event Coordinator Hired
HOWARD LAKE, MN- The North American Elk Breeders Association has announced staff changes effective January 1, 2016. Dawn Berhorst, who served as NAEBA’s Event Coordinator, has resigned her position on staff.
Berhorst was hired in December of 2014 and finished a full year in the role as the association’s event planner. Looking ahead to 2016, Berhorst said she could not continue in this role due to increased responsibilities and time commitment in her insurance company’s business.
“We are sad to lose Dawn as she was a valued part of the staff,” said Travis Lowe, who serves as NAEBA’s Executive Director. “Dawn has a great spirit and energy that quickly became an asset to us. We will look forward to still seeing Dawn and her husband Gary at NAEBA events as enthusiastic members.”
As NAEBA is currently preparing for two events, NAEBA filled the vacancy and hired Taylor Schettler as the new event coordinator. Schettler currently works for a state chamber of commerce following government affairs and planning legislative events and membership meetings.
“Taylor’s experience in event planning and meetings with up to 1,000 people will help make a smooth staff transition as we prepare for the March Mingle and upcoming convention in August,” said Lowe. “NAEBA is planning for a busy 2016 and the whole staff is anxious to get started.”
Schettler started January 4th. The role of event coordinator evolved when the convention coordinator position was combined with duties for planning the winter/spring event. Brenda Hartkopf planned the convention from 2007-2014 and will work directly in Schettler’s training.
