During their annual convention and international antler competition, the North American Elk Breeders Association recognized Keith Warren’s service by presenting him with the “Friend of the Industry” award. Every year, NAEBA’s award is given to someone outside the elk farming industry that strives to ensure elk farming and conservation hunting continues for future generations.
NAEBA Executive Director Travis Lowe stated during the award presentation at the annual membership meeting in Kansas City, Missouri, that Warren has gone out of his way to educate the public about the merits of cervid farming conservation and addressing misnomers about Chronic Wasting Disease. Lowe told the association’s members, “Keith has now put together three documentaries regarding the truth about Chronic Wasting Disease that shows known science and reality.”
In addition to producing documentaries, Warren recently visited Missouri state legislators in Jefferson City to answer questions about Chronic Wasting Disease and deer farming. Charly Seale, who was recently elected NAEBA’s president, said his work is extremely valuable. “This education is important because all hunters need to know that cervid farmers are some of the best conservationists we have and we have to work together to preserve the hunting industry. We need to stand together as a whole if we want to survive.”
